Douglas V. Tingey

Douglas V. Tingey is a Business Lawyer in the Calgary office of Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG).

Mr. Tingey earned his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from the University of Victoria followed by his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Vancouver. Prior to joining BLG, Mr. Tingey spent 19 years in SE Asia where he advised multinational clients on various legal issues associated with doing business in Asia. His work included advising on foreign direct investment, the establishment of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, secured lending, project finance, mining contracts, use of offshore holding structures (including purpose trusts), farm-ins and engineering and construction contracts. Richard Tory

Richard Tory is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking division, based in Hong Kong. He is Co-Head of the Energy and Industrials Groups in the Asia Pacific region with specific focus on the metals and mining sector. Mr. Tory joined Credit Suisse in London in July 2007 and until the end of 2009, was responsible for the EMEA Metals and Mining Group. Mr. Tory joined Credit Suisse from Lehman Brothers where he was a Managing Director and Head of Global Metals and Mining. Previously, Mr. Tory worked at Citigroup for five years as an M&A banker and, most recently, as Co-Head of European Metals and Mining. Prior to embarking on his banking career, Mr. Tory was a partner at Torys, a leading Canadian law firm. He also spent a year seconded to the Ontario Securities Commission and eighteen months seconded to Allen & Overy in London. During the past several years, Mr. Tory has advised many of the leading global metals and mining companies on a variety of strategic and capital markets transactions. Mr. Tory holds a B.A. (Hons) degree from Trinity College, University of Toronto and an LL.B. from Queen's University, Canada.
