Domingo G. Castillo

Partner of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (which is the largest law firm in the Philippines) and has been with the firm for twenty-eight (28) years.  Mr. Castillo has extensive experience in aircraft registration, cargo claims, and obtaining licenses for foreign air carriers doing business in the Philippines.  He has acted for AirAsia Berhad, Thai AirAsia, Philippine Air Lines, Bouraq Airways, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa and IATA.

Mr. Castillo has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree and a Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines.  He holds a Master of Laws (Ll.M.) from New York University.  He was with the London firm of Sinclair Roche and Temperley in 1982.  He is presently an arbitrator with the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc (PDRCI). 

Mr. Castillo has shared the wealth of his experience by being a speaker in the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) and other fora.

Carine Feipel

Carine Feipel is a partner in both the Insurance and Reinsurance Law and the Corporate Law – M&A Practices and is a member of the Private Equity group of the firm. Within the insurance group, she has worked on numerous M&A transactions involving insurance undertakings, reinsurance companies and other financial institutions. Karl-Johan Gombrii

Mr Gombrii graduated in Law at the University of Uppsala. Before joining Mannheimer & Zetterlöf in Gothenburg as an assistant attorney in 1972, he worked for a year as a lecturer at the School of Economics, Gothenburg. From 1973 to 1976 he was a legal officer with the UN in Geneva. In 1977 he became a research fellow at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law in Oslo, Norway. He joined Nordisk in 1982.

Hendrik Haag

Hendrik Haag is a partner in the Frankfurt office of Hengeler Mueller and practices in the field of banking, finance and capital markets. He advises leading German and international banks and corporations on all sorts of financing as well as capital markets transactions. In addition, he is an expert in bank regulation.

He studied law at the universities of Mannheim, Heidelberg, Lausanne and Freiburg and was admitted to the German Bar in 1985. He received the degree of doctor iuris from the University of Heidelberg in 1988. After spending two years working with law firms in the United States, Dr. Haag joined Hengeler Mueller in 1988 and became a partner in 1992.

Hendrik Haag has published a variety of articles on banking and capital markets law matters.

Dr. Haag has been a chairing partner of Hengeler Mueller from 1998 to 2004. He is an active member of the International Bar Association where he presently holds the position of LPD Chair.

   

Jan Kooi

Jan Kooi specializes in tax, international taxation, M&A, financial instruments, and transactions with Asia. He has had more than 29 years of experience in taxation and tax/treasury-related items, and is a prime tax speaker for Eurofinance. Mr. Kooi is also the current IPBA Regional Coordinator for Europe and a special advisor to the Board of the Dutch Japanese Trade Federation (DUJAT).

   

Wendy Jacobs

Wendy is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group and the head of the Insolvency Sub Group.

She specialises in insolvency and, in particular, reconstruction. Her team works with clients dealing with actual and potential financial loss in a broad range of industries but with particular expertise in insurance, financial services and building and construction. She has been involved in many of Australia’s largest insolvencies/reorganisations including HIH, New Cap Re, James Hardie and Fincorp.

Wendy’s team also has specialist expertise in the law affecting directors and officers. They advise on avoidance of breaches and also dealing with the consequences of breaches including all insurance aspects. They understand the complex and expanding demands on directors, particularly those in high profile commercial enterprises.

In addition to general recovery work (both secured and unsecured) the team has valuable experience in regulatory investigation and litigation.

Bruce Lloyd

Bruce Lloyd's practice comprises two complementary areas of specialisation: competition and corporate advisory.

Bruce advises both private and public sector organisations on competition law aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restrictive trade practices, including cartel conduct, access issues and consumer protection issues under the Trade Practices Act.
